  1. I believe you did a very good job discussing the future implications of these bombings. For example how USA was more worried about Russia and that the bombings lead to the cold war. It seemed like you also did a good job of giving facts. This made me feel like you really knew what you were talking about. One critique would be that you didn't do a good job of explaining why the bombs were dropped. You could have put more detail on how Japan wouldn't surrender and more people would have died if we would have done a land invasion. Also I came away thinking I didn't learn as much as I did fro other presentations.

  2. I really liked how you talked about how important the future of the nuclear bombs were and how it "opened a new door to the world- and the extent of collateral damage." I also like how you added a thesis to your presentation, it added more to what you were saying and I like how you knew a lot of facts about the attacks.Something that I would have fixed on your presentation is how you explained more about the aftermath than the actual bombings.

  4. You guys seemed very knowledgeable about your topic and had a lot of interesting pictures. However I felt like I didn't learn as much information about the bombings as I did about other topics in the other presentations. And I think of big item that could've been added to enhance the presentation is statistics, this would've added to describing why this event is iconic.

  5. I liked how you talked about the implications of the dropping of the nuclear bombs in Japan, and the moral strain it put on America. Good explanation of how it lead to the Cold War. I felt like you were either going too fast or too slow when presenting, that made it difficult to follow the train-of- thought. I also felt like you miss some very important key points.

  6. This was a great presentation overall. I really liked your power point because it was very entertaining and informational. I also liked the statistics that you provided and your emphasis of your main points. I always knew that many people died but I never knew how many until you discussed it. I thought it was horrible that people couldn't get the help they needed because many doctors and nurses were killed. One thing that I think could have been improved was eye contact with the crowd throughout the entire presentation.

  7. I think you guys did a great interpretation of saying that this event "opened a new door". I think you guys did a great job at describing how the aftermath of the bomb drop was a whole new beginning to an era of warfare we've never witnessed before. The strongest part of the presentation to me was the quote, "My God what have we done?". One part i think that could've been improved was perhaps more information about the bombings themselves, like how many deaths.

  8. I think you guys did a great job of explaining the event and how much of an effect it had. I never knew how many people died from the bombing so it was crazy to hear about the amount of people that passed. One thing that I think you could have done differently is have more eye contact.

  9. I loved how your power point was different from everyone else's in the fact that you used quotes on your power point and then explained everything. The time magazine picture at the start was also very powerful. I think one thing to improve on is to learn more about your topic before presenting, I could tell you were relying on your note cards sometimes.

  10. I really enjoyed your presentation about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I liked how your slides were not filled with words and how you really went in to detail about the events. One area that I think you could have improved was talking more about Nagasaki because, I felt like you both did not give a lot of information about this bombing. I also think you could have added more information about the long term effects and what the region is like today.

  11. 1) It seemed like you guys had an excellent overall knowledge of the bombings and the impact it had not only directly on the citizens of Japan, but it was neat to learn how it effected the U.S. and the rest of the world as well.

    2) Something I noticed from the presentation was that there was too much information on some slides or you were reading off of the slides in order help move the presentation along. Instead, having some of the information on note cards could de-clutter your presentation and help you make sure that you didn't leave out any information.

  12. I think the quotes were great, they were all very relevant with what you were talking about and helpful to show the actual thoughts of the people in charge of the bombings.
I think that it would have been helpful to talk more about the Manhattan Project and the rush to create this weapon before the Nazis gained the technology.

  13. I really enjoyed the quotes from all the important people at the time. It really helps put you in the moment and understand the mood of the time. I didn't think about all the doctors and nurses that died in the bombing as well which made it hard to help others. The presentation helped show how devastating it really was instead of trying to make America look innocent.

I would've liked to learn more about the people designing and creating the bomb. The process of creating such a horrible weapon is a big deal and was probably very controversial. Also there were no numbers on how many total civilians died.

  14. I loved how the approach in addressing this topic was about not the art of dropping but actually the tragedy and long term repercussions of this tragedy, I thought that an argument was as made clear and seemed at time too much like a lecture and history lesson.

  15. I like the quote from the co-captain of the Enola Gay that you guys used. It really put everything into perspective and made me realize how crazy and dreadful those bombs actually were. I would of liked to have heard the bombs names because that is very interesting what they called them.

  16. I really liked your presentation and the pictures you chose to included. They weren't your run of the mill WW2 pictures, I think these helped give a glimpse into the time period and what was happening at the time. I liked how you related the pilot who dropped the A-bomb's quotes with your own interpretation. It let me know how you felt rather than how the author whose information you researched feels. You both were hard to hear at times, but other than that it was solid!

  17. You both did a great job with surrounding your presentation with facts and the way you guys carried yourself with speaking in front of everyone, i would like to have seen more pictures of the effects dropping the bombs on japan caused. AT times you were hard to hear but that just might be me, other than that great job.

  18. The details of the presentation were very clear cut and neat. I liked the touch of how the lead designer was only under the impression that the atomic bomb was merely to show off to the Russians and not to be used. The quote for the co-pilot of the aircraft was my favorite part of the presentation since that is one of the most well known quotes and would have been silly not to include.

I did not like the Pearl Harbor comparison though. I did not feel like it fit at all and in all honesty I don't think you could make a comparison to the dropping of the atomic bomb. I mean you could stretch back to the Nazi's and how they killed Jews in concentration camps, but otherwise there really isn't a comparison.
