  1. I think the best part of your presentation was the background information and incite you had on your topic. It seemed as if you knew a lot about the structure of the memorial and what the memorial consist of. For example knowing that there were 400 hundred trees and knowing about the survivor tree was very interesting. Also I found your final comment about the cadet that is in a corner. I wish there was more information on that. My critic of your presentation was what was the big picture? It seemed like you touched on it at the end with race being a factor. That was the most interesting part of your presentation to me so I would have talked more in depth about that.

  2. I first wanted to let you know that you did a really good job, without a partner. The thing that I liked the best about your presentation was how passionate you were about the topic, and how you added extra things into what you were saying. Some things that I found really interesting about your presentation was when you talked about the "survivor tree" it was really cool that there was something in the memorial that survived a tragedy like 9/11 proving to America that we can make it through the rough times in our lives, even when it seems impossible. Also I never knew that there were other 9/11 memorials besides the one in New York. Something that I would have to criticize about your presentation would have to be that I really didn't know what you were trying to say, I mean you gave us a lot of information about the memorial but I really didn't get why it was iconic.

  3. I thought the information about the "survivor pear tree" was really interesting and how you compared the 9/11 memorial in New York to many others that I didn't even know existed such as the Teardrop memorial by the Russian architect. You also did a great job presenting without a partner or note card. I thought some more information could have been covered to explain the big picture of your presentation and that it may have helped the audience follow along better if you had at least a few words on the slides instead of just pictures.

  4. I thought you had great knowledge of memorials; I learn a lot from your presentation. I was shocked to find out that there is no mention of the churches destroyed in the memorial. I never knew about the Teardrop memorial. A few things you could improve on is having a clear thesis about why the 9/11 Memorial is so iconic (even though it is obvious) and just being clear in you message throughout. Overall, good job without having a partner.

  5. You did a great job not only because you took the weight of two people but also because of your knowledge on the subject. I liked how you were able to speak about the memorial based totally off of memory without having any textual aid. In addition to that you had some very cool pictures showing different perspectives of the memorial. One cool thing that I learned from your presentation was about the Survivor Tree. I had never heard of it before and the story behind it was very interesting. One thing that could've been improved was the long pauses during the presentation and a more organized way of giving the information.

  6. You did a great job of going deep into the history of the making and what all is there at the memorial. I never even knew that there was a museum underground. I also enjoyed many of the interesting facts you found like the muslim first responder that wasn't properly respected in the memorial. One thing i think that could've helped was perhaps the use of note cards to access information quicker.

  7. I thought you did an excellent job with your presentation even without having a partner. I really enjoyed how you went into depth about the memorial. One thing that really interested me was the pear tree that survived. I never heard about that before so it was really neat to learn about. One thing that I think you could have done was have a notecard. I think it would have helped when you lost your thought.

  8. You did a very impressive job on your own. It was very interesting because I've never actually seen pictures of the memorial, only heard about it. I could tell you were very passionate about your topic and I loved that. The stories, facts, and statistics you talked about were all amazing and interesting. One thing I would have maybe done differently is added words to some of your slides for the audience to read.

  9. I really enjoyed your presentation on the 9/11 memorial. One aspect of your presentation that I enjoyed was the comparison to the Teardrop memorial in New Jersey. I never knew about this memorial, but I found it very interesting because it was given to the US from the Russian government. What you could have done better was to go in depth about what the memorial truly means to New Yorker's, Americans and the world. And maybe include what the memorial means to you as an individual.

  11. 1) I really enjoyed how you related the importance of the monument all while remaining factual and not being too emotional about the subject. The emotion was there in your presentation, but it was the perfect balance of thesis and facts.

    2) you related the memorial to other memorials around the world and you did a good job of describing them, it's just that the your direct compare and contrast in the presentation had no visual and it made it challenging to follow along with you.

  12. I thought it was great how you knew so much information about your project without a partner. I thought the tree that was saved from the wreckage was very interesting and how you could see the change in damage on the roots.
I think that some text on the Powerpoint would have helped make your points more organized.

  13. The presentation had a lot of facts and good information. The analysis was not bad, and the comparison with the tear drop memorial was great. I have been to the memorial and I think Darrin understood what the memorial really meant.

However, the presentation, was not a presentation. It was more of a list of facts that Darrin read off with a few pictures to look at. The information should have been in a presentation and more analysis should have been done to represent the importance of the memorial.

  14. I thought you were extremely knowledgeable on the subject. I really learned a lot from this presentation and it made me want to go see the memorial. However, I think there was not a clear thesis or analysis on why the memorial is iconic. It was more factual than analyzing. A clear thesis and explanation of why the memorial was iconic would have done the presentation good.

  15. I didn't know much about the 9/11 memorial as a structure and the cool way it is designed. The overview picture of the whole memorial was perfect as you described what each part is. I never knew that the project went over budget by 500 million dollars. The tear drop memorial in New Jersey is a great comparison and had cool information on the background.

There could've been more about the features of the museum itself to express how personal and unique it really is. There wasn't much background on how the memorial was built.

  16. I thought this presentation had great pictures and I believe it helped the overall presentation in demonstrating how this memorial is becoming so monumental. I would like to see more major points in the text because the presentation seemed discombobulated when you aren't reading a broad text and all you have is basically pictures.

  17. I have never actually been there and I never knew that there were pools there. That is amazing to look at overhead and that picture on your slide was a great visual. I think you could of been a little more prepared for it and known a little more background information.

  18. Your presentation was very heartfelt, at times i could feel the emotions coming over me knowing that all of these innocent people died without cause. Only thing I would suggest would be to be a little more interactive and make eye contact with the audience.

  19. Your project was great because you had so much information to work with and you were able to find the perfect ones to make your power-point sincere and heartfelt.

  20. I liked the presentation and all the photos that you shared of the memorial. I have never been there so I enjoyed having visual representations in the presentation. With that being said, I would've liked to see more text in the slides and not just pictures. I enjoyed the anecdote of the "survivor tree" that had been there and the exhibit that had the walls of pictures of the victims. I thought your thesis was unclear though. But overall, I thought you did a great job for doing it without a partner.

  21. I believe the best part of your presentation was how many facts you gathered, not just about 9/11 but the environment surrounding and in the memorial. The use of all the pictures made me really get an idea of what the memorial looked like because i have never been there. I believe you could have posted more slides for us to follow along better but other than that you did a great job.
