  1. I think you did a good job of giving people a clear big picture. You made it obvious that the M16 revolutionized gorilla warfare compared to earlier guns. I like how you gave a clear background of the problems with the earlier model and its jamming problem because soldiers were told not to clean them. I also thought you did a good job of comparing the M16 to the AK47. You made it obvious that the M16 was made to compete with and beat the AK47. My only critique is that I think you could have done a better job of describing the gun for people who don't know a lot about them. But overall I think it was a very good presentation.

  2. I learned a lot from this presentation that I didn't know before such as the M16 rifle being changed to accommodate the needs of Guerrilla warfare. I also liked how you provided several statistics to describe the M16 and compare it to other rifles, explaining how it weighed less than the M14 to make it easier to carry. The slides were also organized very well. My critique is that you read directly from slides and your notecard a lot.

  3. This presentation was very informative. I liked the chosen theme for your power point because I think it went with your topic really well. I also liked your comparisons and explanation of the evolution of the M16. I didn't know that this type of gun had bullets that fragment throughout the body when it shot someone. One thing that could have been improved is your eye contact and each partner alternating between slides.

  4. I think this presentation was very good and emphasized how much of an impact the M-16 had especially in the Vietnam era. I think the best part of the presentation was when you compared it to its predecessor and showed why it was a better weapon especially in jungle warfare. I also didn't know that they told soldiers at first that they didn't need to clean them. One thing i think you could've improved was better interpretations of the parts of the gun.

  5. I think this was a good presentation. I didn't know much about the M-16 so this whole presentation was almost all new information to me. One thing that I thought was really cool is how over time, they changed the materials of the gun so it would be lighter for the soldiers to carry. One thing that I think you could have done differently is more eye contact with the class.

  6. I didn't even know the M-16 was an iconic object so this presentation was very interesting. I think the best part apart about it was the thesis was very clear. I could tell you both liked your topic but you did not sound very confident when you were speaking about it. For further presentations just speak up and keep eye contact!

  7. Good presentation overall. It was well researched; I learned a lot about the M16 like how it is the longest used rifle in US military history, and is still in use. I liked how you described its' evolution, how it developed in to the rifle it is today. Things to improve upon; the black slides were cliché and just more confidence in what you're presenting.

  8. Your presentation was actually very good, I liked how clear it was on why the M16 was iconic. I also liked how you explained the progression of the gun itself. Something that you could have done better was the fact that you did not make much eye contact with the class, if you improve this, it will make your presentations so much better.

  10. I really enjoyed your presentation about the M-16. I liked how informed you both were about the rifle and how it helped shape America. I liked how you also talked a lot about the use of the weapon in the Vietnam war. This was interesting because it was relevant to the novel The Things They Carried. What I think you could have done to improve your presentation was to slow down and really talk about the importance of the gun pre Vietnam and post. Also you could have added if other countries use this weapon.

  11. 1) something that was done well in the presentation was when you were comparing and contrasting the M16 (and all its variations) to the M14. Not only did you go into great length about each of the guns and how they're meant to be used, but you also went the extra mile and related them to each other in ways I didn't know were possible.

    2) The PowerPoint presentation was short and sweet, but may have been a little too minimal. The overall knowledge of the subject though made it so that you didn't need extra information on the slides, but they could've been more visually interesting.

  12. I thought the presentation outlined the evolution of the M-16 assault rifle. The facts were on point and the comparison with the AK-47 worked well.

Although, the presentation was not perfect. The presentation seemed over saturated with facts and not enough analysis of the weapon. Both Andy and Brady where very quiet too so it was rather hard to hear them sometimes.

  13. The best part of this presentation in my opinion was the compare/contrast. It was carried throughout the entire presentation. They compared the M-16 to the M-14 and AK-47 throughout the whole presentation.

They did not clearly state why the M-16 was iconic. While they did explain how it revolutionized warfare, I think they could have went a lot more in depth explaining how.

  14. I thought the facts were in line and I enjoyed seeing the evolution and transformation of the gun and how it has turned into a well recognized weapon. I saw little demonstration as to the argument for the gun and why it is iconic but I enjoyed the facts and history behind the gun, good work!

  15. I enjoyed learning more about the m16 rifle than what i previously knew. One thing i would suggest is to be more specific in the details.

  16. I think the m-16 rifle is very iconic and is the main symbol of the U.S. military. I liked the descriptive detailed how it worked in Vietnam. I would have liked to hear more about the AK-47 and why it was better than the m-16.

  17. I'm not too into firearms but the way you explained the M16 and its previous and sister models made sense to me. I like how you began with the original M16 model and then branched off into its predecessors, sister models, and etc. Mentioning the Vietkong's AK-47 was a good comparison since the AK is so iconic and well known, it gave you a sense of the M16's power. Maybe next time explain why you think the M16 is so iconic, rather than explaining how it is so iconic.

  18. I know a little bit about firearms due to my dad being in the military with all the things he tells me. A couple things I thought was done well were the flaws that the earlier models had, the evolution of the gun, and the comparison with the AK-47. A few things that I thought could've been better is the your thesis wasn't as pronounced as much as I thought it should've been. I had to keep looking back at my notes to figure out your thesis and that point that you made to lead to that conclusion. I also thought you could've explained more about the weapons for those who aren't as familiar with firearms. And don't be afraid to speak up.

  20. I really enjoyed this presentation, the comparison between the M16 and the M14 was very great and you explained everything well, i actually learned a lot about these guns that i had not known before the presentation. I would like to have learned more about the original M16 and how it effected the war immediately.
